The silversmith's workshop
The lack of literary evidence and verifiable descriptions of the places in which the artists of Epiros made their handmade objects during the Ottoman period renders the task of reconstructing a silversmith's workshop very difficult.
Modern workshops producing handmade silver artefacts give some idea of the tools used throughout the process of manufacture and decoration of the objects.
In the case of tools that are no longer used, or are not preserved, we turn to descriptions by old craftsmen or people who come from families of silver-workers, who have living memories of them.
